LASG SHIFTS 10TH INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE SUMMIT COMMENCEMENT DATE TO JUNE 11


… Regrets Change, Pleads For Understanding from Participants/Stakeholders

Lagos State Government on Friday announced June 11, 2024, as new date for the commencement of its 10th International Climate Change Summit, regretting the change and pleading for understanding from participants and stakeholders.

A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Office of Environmental Services, Ministry for the Environment and Water Resources, Gaji Omobolaji Tajudeen informed that the Summit will now be held from Tuesday, 11th to Thursday, 13th of June at the same Continental Hotel, Victoria Island venue.

He said the 10th Lagos International Climate Change Summit with the theme: “Accelerating Climate Finance and Championing Local Adaptation Initiatives”, was originally scheduled for Tuesday, 4th till Thursday, 6th June 2024, but, had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

“This decision was not made lightly and we wanted, most importantly, to guarantee a summit where all stakeholders are present and galvanised towards accelerating Climate Adaptation in the State. We appreciate the time and effort you have invested in preparing for this event and we share your disappointment in having to reschedule”, Gaji stated.

Apologising for any inconvenience the postponement may have caused all delegates and stakeholders, the Permanent Secretary, however, solicited a renewed interest and commitment to attendance from all the invitees and guests on the new dates for the summit.
